More about Mr. Atkins

During his long legal career, Mr. Atkins has gained extensive experience in conducting trials, and representing clients in matters involving criminal defense, construction defect, commercial litigation, general liability, residential and commercial liability, auto and commercial trucking liability, subrogation and indemnification, and complex civil litigation.  

In 2012, Mr. Atkins began his tenure at a major insurance carrier as a defense trial lawyer in their Denver office and shortly thereafter assumed the Managing Attorney position for the firm.  Prior to that managing attorney position, Mr. Atkins served as a staff counsel, defense attorney for a different multinational insurer, practicing law in the areas of: construction defect, commercial liability, general liability, commercial motor vehicle liability, Workers’ compensation, subrogation and indemnification.  

Mr. Atkins also served as an associate for a private insurance defense firm practicing law in the areas of: general liability defense, personal injury, premises liability, and motor vehicle accident litigation.  Mr. Atkins previously managed his own law firm, practicing in the areas of surety, surety and bonding company defense, State and Federal appeals, and criminal defense. 

He is the kind of attorney that remains in contact with his clients and their families for years following the conclusion of their legal matters, they like him as a person and trust him as their attorney and advocate

Biography

Chad Atkins was raised in Colorado Springs. He attended the University of Denver, earning a BA in Economics, History and Political Science, a Masters in International Management and a Juris Doctorate. 

In Law School, he was General Editor on Law Review and published. He served as Captain of the Jessup Moot Court team and competed successfully interscholastically. He was admitted to law practice in 1994
Right after finishing law school, Chad Atkins started initially practicing criminal law as a young attorney, and soon after expanded his law practice to include civil matters, surety, domestic relations, juvenile and ICWA cases.

He has extensive experience serving in dual roles, as both plaintiff’s counsel, and defense counsel. He has conducted over 140 bench and jury trials. He served as managing counsel for the state of Colorado for a fortune 50 company, and managed a caseload of over 440 cases.
