How a CDFA can help

Certified Divorce Financial Analysts are a key element to answering the basic question that is most often asked, ‘Will I be OK after the divorce?’ The goal is to assist the client with achieving equitable and viable financial settlements. This is done by forecasting the long-term and short-term consequences, of any settlement, for each individual’s situation.

CDFAs provide valuable information. This includes data from the basics of household budgeting to the more complex issues of tax consequences, dividing pension plans, continuing health coverage, stock option elections and estate planning.

CDFAs are trained to act either as an expert who is your financial advocate or as a neutral expert when working with couples.

CDFAs are financial professionals who have graduated from The Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts where they have obtained training specific to the financial issues of divorce. CDFAs also must complete annual continuing education in the field of divorce, taxation and finances.
